USA - places worth visiting
The USA is one of the most interesting countries in the world. Many tourists from all over the world come to visit this country. The USA is famous for its numerous historic buildings, monuments, museums, galleries, parks, theatres, cinemas, etc.
The cities which the tourists always explore are San Francisco, New York, Washington D.C., Los Angeles and Salt Lake City.
The first city you should stop in is San Francisco which is situated in the northern California. This city is famous for its cable cars. The Powell-Hyde line begins at Powell and Market streets, terminating at Victorian Park runs from Martime Museum and Aquatic Park; the California Street line runs from California and Market streets to Van Ness Avenne. San Francisco has also one of the most beautiful bridges in the world. The Golden Gate Bridge. It connects San Francisco with Marin County. You can drive, bike or walk across the two-mile long suspension bridge or get down to Baker Beach – the most popular and locally beloved beach which is restled in the western shadow of the Golden Gate Bridge. There are many pools, steep bluffs and climbable rocks. Next worth visiting place is Fisherman’s Wharf. Is is popular among tourists and because of the sea lions. Fisherman’s Wharf is full of shops, silly museums and family fun. You can purchase tickets to Alcatraz Island and Prison there. Ferring to Alcatraz Island at Fisherman’s Wharf you can enjoy spectacular views of the San Francisco skyline on the way to this must see San Francisco attraction – one home of notorious prisoners like Al Capone. There are many attractions in San Francisco like Cliff House, Coit Tower, Exploratorium, Ghirardelli square and Golden Gate Park.
The next city that you must visit is Washington – the capital of the USA. There is a building in Washington that the whole world knows – The White House. It is a home of U.S. Presidents sine 18th Century. You can tour there gardens, including the famous South Lawn. There is also a temple – Lincol Memorial – one og the best memorials in a town full of them. In Washington you can find John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts. It’s consists of 5 theaters including the homes of the National Opera and National Symphony Orchestra. If you can’t get tickets, daytime tours must be available. Visitors to Washington may relax at the wonderful park – Lafayette Park. There are also other places which should be visited: Capiol Building, Supreme Court, Vietnam Veterans Memorial, Smithsanian Institution, Embassy Row and Rock Creek Park.
New York is a city the next on which should be especially visited. There are many worth visiting places there. First of them is the Statue of Liberty. It’s located in New York harbor. The place tourists always want to visit is the Fifth Avenue. As famous as Beverly Hills’ Rodeo Drive and the Via Ven to in Rome, New York’s premiere shopping strip offers up designers such as Gucci, Prada, Vesace; there are also department stores like Sales Fifth Avenue an Henri Bendel. On the Fifth Avenue and 34th Street there is the tallest sky scraper in New York that rises 1454’ above Manhattan. It houses 103 floors of broadcasting stations, shops, restaurants and office space. On the 86th floor there is the most obvious attraction – observation desk offering panoramic views of the city. You can see the Ground Zero Viewing Platform. It is the memorial the September 11, 2001 tragedy. You should be prepared for long queues and strong emotions. The list of New York specialties is never-ending. There are so many things worth seeing there that it could take a long time to enumerate all of them. Those who like doing shopping should visit Times Square. New York has got also some places there you can relax like Central Park, Ellis Islano, Metropolian Museum of Art and Yankee Stadium.
The next city which is extremely exciting is Los Angeles. The most popular attraction there is Hollywood. You can see there houses of stars who have made a lot of films. Los Angeles is a perfect city if you want to relax. There is Disneyland, Disney’s California Adventure, Aquarium of the Pacific, Pacific Park, Los Angeles Zoo and Legoland. You should visit this lovely city if you will go to USA with your children.
The last place you should visit is Salt Lake City. First of all you must see the Temple for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter – Day Saints. The LDS Temple is indisputably the largest attraction for visitors in Salt Lake City who travel across the globe to find the Latter Day Saint’s own vision of Zion. Next attraction is Great Salt Lake. It is located 17 miles northwest of Salt Lake City, the lake is nearly 90 miles long and 50 miles wide. Salt Lake also has several beaches for sunbathing. One of the most interesting attractions is Romanesque sandstone strecture served as Utah’s capitol building for nearly 20 years at the turn of the last century while Utah courted statehood. It is a perfect spot for a sunny picnic lunch. After the whole day you can go to Hansen Planetarium.
In my opinion the USA is worth visiting and everybody should go there. At least once in their lives.
