FEMINISM Do you think that women are discriminated against? Describe the position of women in Poland in the past and now. How do you expect the si

I think that men and women in Poland are generally equal. In the past women, not only in Poland, didn’t have right to vote or right to learn. They had to work in the house with children because a man was “head of family”. Today only in some countries, like Sudan, women are treated worse. In Poland women have the same rights as men. Certainly there are people who say that in Poland women are discriminated. For example, employers don’t want to employ young women who start their family life, because they are afraid of pregnancy, but it isn’t a rule. The other point of discrimination is when man earns more money on the same post. As I can see the most important are now qualifications, not sex. There are some jobs which are better done by women, like a nurse and by men like a miner, a solder or an undertaker. We can’t change this because it is a part of psyche. I would like to see a woman who wants to work in a mine.

I have got a hope that in future there will not be foundation which would say that women are treated worse than men. Nowadays we can see more and more women that have high positions in government, women driving cars and making a business. The situation of women is getting better. But on the other hand it is probable that somebody always will be unsatisfied, talking that it could be better.
