Yellowstone National Park is the oldest protected area in the world. It is located in the central part of the United States of America. It includes parts of the Rocky Mountains, the Yellowstone River and its large canyon. In this park there are mud volcanoes, hot springs, sulfur pools and more than 3,000. In addition, there are numerous waterfalls and lakes. Most of the area is covered with coniferous forests. They consist of pines, fir and spruce. There are also deciduous trees: aspen, poplar alder and willow. Beside the forest floor there are mountain meadows with herbaceous plants - among others eagles and bitters. There are large animals such as buffalo and grizzlies, elk, deer and American antelope. The mountains are inhabited by marmots Snow goats and Canadian sheep. In the area of this park also live coyotes, sushi and about 200 species of birds.
