One of the consequences of population growth is that schools cannot handle the influx of children. Classes are larger and hiring of untrained teachers rises. Another effect of overpopulation is over-crowding. It changes the way people interact. People get defensive and irritable in crowded cities. They are calmer, nicer and easy-going in more wide-open, less crowded places. Population growth can be a problem because of the limits of resources such as fossil fuel, electricity. Another consequences are: less jobs, food shortages, tensions on programs such as: social security, medical care, public transportation, education. It all would be under immense stress.
