On Saturday (24 Oct) near the east coast of Indonesia, there has been a powerful underwater earthquake on the strength of 7 degrees on the Richter scale. According to the U.S. Geological Survey Agency of the earthquake epicenter was located 365 km from the islands of Ambon which is a part of the Spice Islands Banda Sea. Many people in a hurry could be in higher parts of the island in fear of tsunami, but according to information provided by the Tsunami Warning Center (Pacific Tsunami Warning Center) epicenter was located too deep under the surface to cause waves. Indonesia announced a state of the tsunami threat, but soon canceled the alarm. This is the second earthquake after shocks of the last month on eastern Sumatra, which killed more than a thousand people.
