Nad nożem powinna stać szklanka do wody mineralnej lub kieliszek do wina. Na środku stołu ustawia się wazonik z kwiatami, naczynka z przyprawami oraz popielniczkę. Bezpośrednio na stole pomiędzy nożem i widelcem układa się płócienną serwetkę, która stanowi element dekoracyjny. Na krawędzi stołu może leżeć karta dań oraz win. Jeśli jest to restauracja, ściany mogą być jednokolorowe lub pokryte delikatnymi wzorami i elementami dekoracyjnymi dostosowanymi do stylu zakładu, np. obrazami, roślinami, elementami kulturowymi. Podłoga jest pokryta panelami podłogowymi lub dywanami.
