Opis filmu "Katyń" Andrzeja Wajdy : When on 17 September 1939 the Soviet army entered to Poland, unprepared for the contest at two fronts the II army of the Republic had to suffer a defeat. A dozen or so thousand officers were among prisoners of war. Their families longed for their return. However he never stepped. Work of Andrzej Wajda is portraying stories of women which in spite of the expiry of years, still awaited their husbands back, sons, brothers and fathers, trapped by the NKVD. The film is starting in the very difficult moment of Polish history.
