People were amazed when they saw him talking on a phone ang walking down the street. It was his idea to make mobile phones available for everybody. He invented an electronic calculator to help him with his engineering work, and this was the first computer. He was very modest about his invention. The US government bought its first aeroplane from the Wright brothers in 1909. It cost $25,000, plus an extra $5,000, because the plane could go faster than 40 miles per hour.
