Isaac Newton was born a year after the death of Galileo in the English village of Woolsthorpe. During his career he has made many important discoveries in the field of mathematics, physics and astronomy. He created a theory, which formulated the laws of physics govern both the solar system and the world around us. According to this theory, the planets, including Earth are kept in their orbits by the gravity of the Sun. He became interested in the theory of gravity by observing an apple fall from a tree. It bothered him a question what is the nature of forces attract one body to another. He concluded that the same force that makes apples fall to the ground, keeps the moon in orbit around the Earth, a planet in orbit around the Sun.
