This year I spent holidays in Zakopane. The first day we went with my parents to a regional restaurant where the waitress set the table a big plate of steaming soup called kwaśnica, which was as a kind of highland cabbage soup. After dinner we went stroll down the main street - Krupówki. Encountered womans inviting people for local cheese and to buy a woolen knitted socks. We supplied a delicious cheese and continued our way. From a distance we could hear the guffaw of the old horse-drawn cab and encouraging shouts. Even from afar waved his hand to us and friendships put to the cab. When we reached the Kuźnice, we saw other tourists and carrier sitting by the fire and burning sausages. Our carrier is pulled from the chest on the grid loaf of bread and a thermos of hot tea. A gesture inviting us to the fire . Highlanders proved to be very hospitable and happy people. We talked late about beautiful legend of the cross on Giewont, Zakopane, trails and valleys. When everyone had eaten sausage and of course had to try the local specyfic dish - warm chees with cranberry we decided to return. Cabs one by one came back to Zakopane, the Krupówki.Each of us was holding a lit torch. I will remember for a long vacation spent in the mountains and is happy to go back there next year.
