Palace of Culture and Science is one of the most characteristic elements of the panorama of Warsaw and, with its 237 meters high, is the tallest building in Poland. Opened in 1955, was built "as a gift from the Soviet people for the Polish nation" within three years. The Palace also includes the Congress Hall, the Museum of Technology, Museum of Evolution Academy of Sciences and an indoor swimming pool at the Palace of Youth. Starting in 1956 PKiN plays the role of radio and television transmitter.
