Christmas in USA The United States is a patchwork of different cultures and traditions. W sklepach i centrach handlowych już od połowy listopada tworzy się tzw. świąteczny nastrój, dekorując je niezliczonymi światełkami, aby zachęcić jak najwięcej klientów do kupowania prezentów. Dopiero 25 grudnia - który w USA jest jedynym dniem Świąt wolnym od pracy - ludzie wręczają sobie prezenty, przywiezione przez amerykańskiego św. Mikołaja, zwanego tu Santa Claus i ubranego w krótki - a nie długi, jak w Polsce - kożuszek. Santa Claus mieszka na Biegunie Północnym, przybywa stamtąd 24 grudnia na saniach zaprzężonych w osiem reniferów, wchodzi w nocy przez komin do domu i zostawia prezenty w wielkich wełnianych skarpetach.
