Tatras are the highest mountain range in the Carpathians. They are also the highest mountains in Poland. But the highest peak of the Tatras is located in Slovakia. They are divided into the Western Tatras, Wysokie and Bielskie, which lie entirely outside Poland. The most recognized peaks of the Tatras are on the Polish side: Rysy, which is the highest peak of Polish mountains, Kasprowy Wierch and Giewont. On the Slovak side, it is Gerlach, the highest peak of the Tatras, and Lomnica and Kryvans. Tatras are built of paleozoic crystalline stalks and to a small extent metamorphic rocks and Mesozoic sedimentary rocks
